In Nigerians responsees on the plans for shoprite to leave Nigeria;

Joshua Chinonso said that it is political that there is already a stand by indigeniuos buyer, which will be disclosed as soon as shoprite leaves.

Shehu Sani noted that it’s an advantage to Nigerians as shoprite exit will aid to the growth of Nigerian local supermarkets.

Baba Yaga commented that to him, it’s a payback and a welcome development as Nigerians will no longer be subject to shoprite horrible chicken or Mr. Price mass produced attire

Some said that this new development will cause unemployment as many nigerians will loose their jobs.

While so many others are of the opinion that it’s a great business opportunity, since shoprite will not go with the structures they formally occupied. Indigenous entrepreneurs can use the same structures, employ same people or even more, do the same business with different name.

  1. Believe me, Nigeria government can not meet up to the standard ShopRite have created, the supermarket lasted in Nigeria because is not a Nigeria company.
